Oakham Library hosts Job Centre Plus, employment and IT support sessions.
Job Centre Plus
Job Centre Plus offers pre-booked sessions every Wednesday and Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm
In order to access the service, an initial appointment must be made at the Stamford Job Centre, which is open Monday to Friday. Phone 0800 169 0190 and say “Job Centre Appointment”
Following registration access will be provided to an online portal to contact the DWP and arrange further appointments, including the Oakham Library sessions.

Employment Support
Regular National Careers Service employment support sessions are on offer on most Tuesdays (not the first or last Tuesday of the month) at Oakham Library to help people enter the workplace,.
Sessions cover:
- Making career choices
- Identifying skills and upskilling
- Understanding the labour market
- Digital media for job search
- Interview techniques
- Redundancy
- How to prepare a good quality CV
